Development and Fundraising
We are very grateful for your interest in and support of our school. Your support is essential for NPS to succeed in its mission to “help children develop intellectual, spiritual, and personal foundations that will serve them throughout their lives.”
Strong parental involvement in particular is crucial to the success of all fundraising and community outreach efforts. Each year we strive for 100 percent parent and faculty participation because it demonstrates to foundations and the greater NPS community that we are committed to a vibrant future for the School.
We thank everyone in our community – our families, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni and their families, Trustees, and businesses – for their support of each of our friendraising and fundraising efforts.
The Annual Giving Campaign
Annual Giving is the School's primary means of closing the gap between tuition and program income and annual operating expenses. Typically more than 60% of gifts to the school in a given year result from the campaign.
Annual Auction and Gala
The Auction raises funds for specific school expenses such as financial aid and technology. It is the second largest component of NPS fundraising efforts.
Grants from Foundations
Every year we apply and receive grants from organizations whose values and missions align with those of NPS.
Capital Campaigns
Capital Campaigns raise restricted funds for the School. NPS has held three such campaigns: in 1987 for a building expansion, in 1994-97 – the 25th Anniversary Campaign – for building, scholarships, and faculty enhancement, and in 2004-2005 – the 35th Anniversary Campaign – for resources to be used by faculty to implement innovative programs and activities that directly benefit students.
Support from the Parents Association
Support from the PA benefits the school in countless ways. Financially, fundraising from the PA results from activities like Sally Foster gift wrap sales, merchandise sales, and events like Breakfast with Santa, Fall into Books, and Fall Festival.
The Legacy Fund
The Legacy Fund is part of the endowment and was established in 2007 with a generous seed contribution by the Weir family – parents of three NPS Alumni. Every year the fund is supported by families in the graduating class.
Grade Six Fundraising
The students in Sixth Grade support NPS through efforts like pizza night to fund the School’s community service efforts of the following school year and the endowment.
Your gift to NPS makes a significant difference in each child’s educational experience and is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
